IDMC — the Intentional Disciple-Making Church — is a movement anchored on the Great Commission: Jesus' charge to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:16–20).
It started as a seminar in Singapore
The conference traces its roots to Singapore. From 1995, Rev Edmund Chan led a yearly disciple-making seminar there. By 2001 it had outgrown the format and became a full three-day conference.
It did not stay in one city. IDMC has grown into a global movement that gathers believers across denominations and nations around a single conviction — that the church exists to make disciples, and that this has to be done on purpose.
- 1995Rev Edmund Chan begins a yearly disciple-making seminar in Singapore.
- 2001The seminar becomes a full three-day conference: IDMC.
- 2026IDMC Bacolod gathers at SMX under the theme All In For Christ.
- 2027IDMC Bacolod returns on 10–11 September: Whole Life Discipleship.
What we are praying for in the Philippines
The aim here is the same. That the body of Christ in the Philippines would return to the Word of God as its compass, realign its ministries around Christ's mandate to make disciples, and see disciple-making churches multiply across the nation.
That means bringing leaders and believers together — to go deeper in discipleship, to stay on mission, and to encourage one another to keep going.
IDMC in Bacolod
IDMC Bacolod is organized by Core Ministries. Once a year it gathers pastors, leaders, ministry teams and families from different churches for a two-day conference at SMX Convention Center.
It is a conference, but it is meant to outlast the two days. The hope is that what is taught in the hall gets lived out at home, at work and in the local church for the rest of the year.
